EMANATA COMICS
Price : Free
Download : Google Play
Website : www.emanata.co

The best part about the android market is that it places the branded products and the independent creations on the same level and it's purely only on the basis of the quality of the content that the people decide to stash it or trash it. Long have the corporates ruled the comic industry, it is time for the indie comic developers to rise up and be recognized for their efforts and Emanata Comics does just that. This app is backs up the creativity and talent of the independent artists. It is designed entirely to support and exhibit indie comic books. Giving the creators a dedicated platform to get their work into circulation. If you are an artist and you would like your work featured in Emanata, you can email them at artist@emanta.co and they will get in touch with you.

Tapastic is a yet another comic book app similar to Emanata Comics that features works including webcomics and visual stories by independent artists. The app boasts about it's wide range of content: from comedy to horror. Unlike Emanata where you have to contact the back-end team for publishing your work, Tapastic lets you publish your comics through your very own account without any hassles. Apart from the iPad / Android, you can also view comics on their website.

COMICS / COMIXOLOGY
Price : Free

Website : www.comixology.com

Comixology was the first awesome digital comic reading experience that i came across on android. Comixology has no loyalty to any publisher whatsoever and flaunts an impressive number of 40,000+ comics in its library. Containing a wide variety of genres including best sellers like Batman, Avengers, The Walking dead to vintage classics like The Wizard of Oz that you can buy or/and read for free as well. Comixology features it's unique Guided View that lets you scan, zoom and flip pages. The app makes use of it's cloud-based platform, where the comics, once bought get automatically synced to all your devices like iOS, Android and PC. The app also proudly brags about putting out the comic's digital release on the same day as it's print release.

MANGA PLUS READER
Price : Free
Download : Google Play

Manga (Japanese comics), have been a core part of the Japanese culture since 1950s. In
2009, Japanese publishing industry was worth 5.5 billion dollars. Not to forget about its undeniably huge worldwide audience like US, India, Canada, UK etc. where in Europe and Middle East countries alone the market was worth 250 million dollars. Well sweet-mother-of-god, such impressive statistics deserve an app that does justice to such talented works. Manga Plus Reader one such app that lets you browse  by category, search, download and read manga series from its  extensive library including famous series like Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Death Note, Fairy Tail etc. The mangas displayed are of good quality, zoomable, lickable.. i mean swipeable and meant for offline reading only. The user interface is quite simple and intuitive, However the app features no option to share your manga on social media or anything to customize your reading experience (except for the ability to zoom) but it definitely seems to do the job just fine. Definitely worth a checkout, i say.

MY MANGA READER
Price : Free
Download : Google Play

My Manga Reader is a yet another japanese comic app however it packs a lot more features then the previously mentioned "Manga Plus Reader" for example, you can download manga from your dropbox account or you can load your comics/ mangas from zip/rar/cbz/folder/image files.

Unlike Manga Plus Reader, this app supports online reading in addition to offline reading. The app offers you many manga sources featuring different languages to choose from and from where you can download your favorite mangas which is good because finding a rare manga shouldn't be an issue in this app. Now although the app has "Search" option, some manga sources do not support searching. Apart from that you can mark your mangas as favorite, drop comments and brag about your manga on facebook / twitter. The UI has a load of options including the manga screen which is fully customizable as a result of which the app might seems a little knotty at first, but you'll get the hang of it.
