How to Solve the 'Wait For Device' Problem in SuperOneClick for Lenovo Ideapad A1 [SOLVED]

SuperOneClick is used for rooting android devices however it hasn't worked out the way it's supposed for some devices one of which is Lenovo Ideapad A1. This troubleshooting guide addresses that problem and provides a detailed yet easy to follow, step-by-step guide to rooting your device successfully.                                                                                                             

Many have used the SuperOneClick software for Root purposes and some have encountered the "Wait for Device" problem.

There are usually 3 reasons for this to happen.

1. Your ADB/USB drivers are not properly installed.
2. You are not using the latest SuperOneClick Version.
3. You installed the system update and since then SuperOneClick is not working.


1. Install PdaNet. Just follow the instructions and it will automatically install the drivers.
2. Once the drivers are installed, try again to root from SuperOneClick.


1. Install the SuperOneClick v2.3.3 and try to root now.

 Although this has now been tried on quite a few devices with no problems, there is always a small risk of damage or problems due to bugs in the recovery or its installation. In the event that something goes wrong, i am not liable for any damage incurred. It is up to you to decide if you want to take this risk. If you are not comfortable with the risk, then do not attempt to proceed

If you have installed the system update, SuperOneClick will not work. You will have to use A1-Rooter.

1. Download  A1

2. Put this zip file in your internal storage sdcard such that the full path is /sdacard/A1_rooter

3. Download
ClockworkMod for Ideapad A1
4. Copy this file to the root of the internal SD card and rename it to (so the full path should be /sdcard/

5. Power down the Ideapad.

6. Hold down volume down and turn the power back on, keeping volume down held until the tablet boots up to an image of an arrow out of a box with an android (this is the stock recovery).

7. Wait whilst Clockworkmod recovery installs. The progress bar should fill up.

6. Afterwards you should see a blue menu of clockmoderecovery.

7. Go to install zip menu item.

8. Install zip from internal storage

10. Installing should be done in seconds.

11. Go back and reboot to android.

12. Enjoy, your Ideapad A1 has been successfully been rooted.
